Fitting the boxes

UC-MP: mounting plate
the UC-MP Mounting Plate The easiest way to install and remove any of our boxes in Defender 90 / 110 vehicles is to use the mounting plate UC-MP which fits in place of the mid front seat squab (see comments below RE: locating pins.) For permanent installation of the larger single and twin wall units the back of the mid seat needs to be removed just above the cross bracket leaving the seat squab locating holes and seat runners in place. In later vehicle models the electronics fitted to the underside of the seat squab may need to be relocated to the floor panel.

Please note that the locating pins on the mounting plate have been designed to fit most Land Rover mid seats at 165mm (6.5") centres. However, some seat locating pins are centred more widely; additional holes can be drilled in the cross bracket to accommodate our mounting plate as well as the seat.

Alternatively, the box could be bolted straight through the floor.
